Philosophy of EducationEvery child needs at least one adult who is irrationally crazy about him or her - Urie Bronfenbrenner
I am a Progressive Bioecological Systems-Constructivist. I believe whole-heartedly in that a person’s success is due to the positive collaboration and cooperation with all individuals involved within one’s environment. My student grows because he or she has a system/network of people who genuinely care and work WITH each other and them. Children go through milestones. They either fail or succeed. Nurturing individuals, such as parents and teachers, are guiding forces in their child’s/students’ development. Many times, children are introduced to new concepts allowing them to think. These children are experimenting and figuring things out through hands-on observation of the society around them and the modeling of the people present in their life. The process developing children undergo to get to the product, along with their guiding systems of support, will be imprinted in their minds. What they know to succeed, they will continue to do and may even adjust to make it even better! I know the material that I teach and I intend to continue to constantly update myself with the latest techniques, examples, and research. My success as a teacher is in large part due to the knowledge and insight I have gained throughout my experiences and continuous schooling and the fact that I am fully aware and proud that I continue to learn for and with my students. |
